In our immediate service communities of Auburn/Gresham, Englewood and Washington Heights to be exact. Our portfolio serves youth ages 6-24. These up and coming community leaders who live in these areas come to us tarnished by the ills of just not having enough to sustain their daily way of life. Some may say or call this poverty and conclude that not having many opportunities leads our youth to suffer a substantial impact to their social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and behavioral development.
We have discovered that we all have different needs, including educational support, income support for ourselves and our families.
Which is why we created a “Safe Space”, an environment that nurtures the soul and allows all to voice their trauma and share their stories of success and defeat. We are a ‘recharging station’ which supports our community’s young folks and aid them in reaching their full potential in their community, school, and work.
Our new motto "Supporting Dreams and Building Futures" is based on our own research and feedback from our community service area. We infuse these key drivers in informing the development of carpentry, broadcast journalism, culinary and community engagement programs and continuously shape our priorities and goals.
We are more than just a social safety net for young people, we teach humanity and compassion and along with one’s willingness to pour your all into your craft you will become successful!
Our programming mitigates risks while building strengths. How do we do it? We make a long-term investment and commitment to our youth and community for a long-term impact.
We set high expectations that when our youth successfully complete their post-secondary education that they will be well on their way to establishing a life sustaining career.
