The Culinary and Hospitality program of Simeon Career Academy introduces High School students to the skills needed to safely prepare food, prepare a restaurant menu, and provide excellent customer service.

Homework never tasted so good!

In October of 2023 The Simeon Alumni village partnered with our friends from Evanston-YJC! The Youth Job Center is a workforce agency that prepares young people, ages 14-25 who are out of school, for success in the workplace and in life. 

YJC offers free Culinary Training Program in partnership with The AHLA Foundation. This 8-week training program uses hands-on learning to teach the basics of the culinary industry and sets the youth up for success in their future culinary career. 

Participants receive state-recognized certifications and have the opportunity to complete a paid internship. Classes are held on the South Side of Chicago at the Simeon Alumni Village.
